Best wind direction: NNE-NW

Water conditions: flat/choppy

This spot has a beautiful beach with plenty of space. Often has on-shore conditions, which means the wind normally is really smooth.

The only problem in Yvonand is the overcrowding of kiteboarders, so make sure to pack your kit away when you're not using it, and respect the marked launch/land areas and other beach users/kiters.

St-Blaise is the main spot in the city of Neuchâtel. A grass and pebble beach, the launch is tricky because it's often very gusty, but once on the water it's great.

Best wind direction: NNW-SSW

A nice sandy beach and you can see the bottom quite far out. The local club (www.swisskite.ch) organises the King of the Lake once a year, usually at the end of September.

The Nid du Crô is a nice spot in Neuchatel, with a large car park and a grass area for setting up. The downside? You'll have to go down some big rocky slabs with your kite at the zenith and the board under your arm - not a launch for the faint-hearted. Once in the water, you'll have to bodydrag out a little before starting.

South West or Joran this spot, it also works with the bise (for advanced riders only).
The public beach is not suitable for kitesurfing, so the launch is to the north of the harbour in the dinghy launch area. The grassy beach is 3m wide for kite preparation. The bay below the harbour has a sandy bottom and is 1m deep.

In south-west winds, the spot is flat on the edge because it is downwind of the harbour.

All in all, a spot best reserved for experts and locals.

Small deserted beach in off-season.

One of the longest-established spots on Lake Geneva. Le Vengeron a great spot where you can set up your kite on the grass. Launch/land is tricky as the wind is directly onhore at the spot. Getting in & out of the water a bit of a 'rock scramble' but once on the water it's perfect. One thing to note is that the small lake is forbidden to kite downwind of the spot (anywhere from the (Virtual) Vengeron-Tour carrée line), so once you are on the water, don't forget to get upwind quickly!

Best wind direction: W-SSW

Water conditions: flat/choppy

Small beach for launch. Unload your gear before parking in the free car park a little further along the Vetrau road. Big historical spot for windsurfers in the area, but for kitesurfing, it requires precision to launch/land so is only for experienced kiters. Excellent for wing foiling.

Best wind direction: W-SSE (which is rare on this side of Lake Geneva).

Water conditions: flat/choppy

A very small spot that requires a good level (especially for launch/landing).
Tricky launch aside, the bay is reassuring, as you will be riding in on-shore wind.
It is not a spot for beginners and if you aren't sure if it's right for your skills then go to Préverenges or St-Sulpice instead.

Best wind direction: ESE-SW

Water conditions: flat/choppy

The beach of the spot is a mixture of sand and grass and the typical wind comes in side shore which makes this spot rather accessible for intermediate kiteboarders.
The vaudaire (wind coming from the Valais) can also come in here, but it's very rare.

Best wind direction: N-NE

Nice little spot located at the mouth of the Versoix river. Difficult launch spot only advised for advanced riders, but once on the water it's great.
The spot is located in a public park, grassy meadow to prepare your equipment and launch in the pebbles.
Be careful, lots of people during the summer.

Best wind direction: N-NE

The wind is on-shore and can be strong.
In summer, a channel is set up and riders must sail beyond the 300m and not sail in the marked bathing areas.
From 15 June to 31 August, kite surfing is forbidden from 10am to 6pm (municipal decree)
On the beach the launch and landing area is marked with orange cones, plus green gates indicating the channel in & out of the water.
