Maximum time on the water and rapid progress in our group kite courses

Our group kitesurf lessons are a fun and sociable way to learn to kitesurf. We keep our groups small to maximise learning potential. Each student will have their own kite as soon as basic controls are mastered.

Our ultimate aim is to help you become an independent kiter. This is someone who can consistently ride upwind in a variety of wind conditions (IKO Level 3, or VDWS Level 5). Once you have reached this level you can try our coaching sessions to keep progressing.

What’s included:

  • No-wind-no-fee guarantee
  • Unlimited time on the water
  • All kit provided including kite, board, wetsuit, harness, buoyancy aid, and helmet
  • Theory session & riding assessment
  • IKO instructor & an IKO certification at the end of your course

If you think you’d prefer 1-to-1 tuition then take a look at our private lessons, or for more advanced lessons try our coaching, foil, or wingsurf lessons.

Lesson structure

We meet for lessons at 11am (10am for complete beginners), get kitted up, and take the boats south to the kite spot (about a 10min drive). The wind normally starts blowing at about midday.

Every student gets their own kite for the duration of their lesson, making sure they have maximum time to progress. Most students will do around 3hrs of kiting before their energy runs out, and we are generally back in the harbour between 4 and 5pm.

At the end of your lesson/course we’ll register you for an internationally recognised IKO license that confirms your ability level. Have one already? We can update it to show your progression. Many kite-rental locations around the world require this certification before they will rent equipment to you.

Beginner kitesurf lessons

All beginners start their learning with an on-land theory session to learn the basics about kitesurfing and safety. The theory session is approximately 1hr long. After this we head out on the water and put everything you’ve learned into practice. That’s right – you’ll be in the water and flying a kite on your first lesson.

From there we take it at whatever pace you need. Speed of progression varies between people but, as a guide, we typically expect progression from complete beginner to riding on the board to take 2-3 days, and for people to achieve a level of independence (learn to ride upwind) within 5-7 days.

What to bring with you:

  • Sun cream
  • Bottle of water
  • A snack to eat on the boat in case you get hungry
